Sephardic Week of Toledo 2016

The Municipal Tourist Board of Toledo City Council, from 4 to 11 September 2016, organises a programme of activities with Sephardic music concerts, historical-artistic guided tours, dramatised visits, Sephardic storytelling, conferences, gastronomic routes, Sephardic menus or tasting of dishes and drinks inspired by Jewish cuisine in the Jewish quarter of Toledo. This event proposes an attractive programme of activities on the Sephardic legacy of our city in all its splendour: artistic, historical, archaeological and cultural heritage complemented by musical, artistic and gastronomic events that take place throughout the day.

The Monday 29 August the inscriptions are opened to participate in the different activities with need of previous reservation, organized on the occasion of the Sephardic Week, that will take place from 4 to 11 September in the Jewish quarter of Toledo, with tastings, workshops, visits, routes or conferences.

Reservations can be made either in person at the Tourist Office in the Town Hall square, from 10:00 to 18:00 from Monday to Sunday, or by calling 925.25.40.30.

The Sephardic Week, which this year is dedicated to “Jewish Languages”, will begin on September 4, coinciding with the European Day of Jewish Culture. Among the novelties of this year, the inclusion of the Tourist Bus and Train, with specific routes and dramatized stops where characters from the Jewish quarter of Toledo will explain the history of the Jews of Toledo, with a final gastronomic detail.

Precisely for these two activities it is necessary to book in advance, as well as for the children’s workshops of calligraphy and papyroflexia, also for guided tours with tasting and gastronomic tastings and workshops, as well as, to participate in the zip-line flight over the Tagus River, in the heart of the Jewish quarter, which for the first time is included in this program.
