I Meeting of the Jewish Quarter of Toledo

The City Council of Toledo has launched the tourist and cultural program “I Meeting of the Jewish Quarter of Toledo” that will take place during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December.

The set of activities were presented by the Councillor of Tourism, Ana Isabel Fernandez, being mostly free or low cost. Toledans and visitors will be able to complete their “Sephardic experience” with a gastronomic experience run by various establishments (Alfileritos 24, Cigarral de Caravantes, Cigarral del Bosque, Cigarral de las Mercedes, El Trébol, Hacienda del Cardenal, Hotel San Juan de los Reyes, La Abadía, La Perdiz, La Tabernita, el Parador and Restaurante Abrasador).

Fernandez said that for some activities, it is necessary to make a prior registration in the electronic koreos and telephones listed below:

Friday Day 2:

– – 20.00 – 20.45 h. Concert by Ana Alcaide, in the Church of San Román (Museo de los Concilios). Free entrance. Tickets can be picked up at the Municipal Tourist Office in the Town Hall Square until 6 p.m. on Friday the 2nd. From outside Toledo, tickets can be booked by e-mail at turismo@ayto-toledo.org (Until capacity is reached – Max. 2 tickets per person or request)

Saturday Day 3:

– – 13 h. Inauguration of the new touch screens of consultation “Welcome to Sepharad” in the Sephardic Museum.

– Special passes in the Sound Garden of the Sephardic Museum (every hour)

– MINYAN: Contemporary installation in Samuel ha-Leví’s Synagogue (Sephardic Museum)

– 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Guided visits through the Jewish Quarter, with special opening of singular spaces. Reservations can be made at the Association’s telephone number (603 420 820) or at the following address: info@guiasdetoledo.org. Price: 3€

– 17 h., 18.30 h. and 20h. Street theatre: performance of the play “Regreso a Sefarad” (Return to Sepharad), along the streets of the Jewish quarter. Start: Paseo de San Cristóbal; duration: 80 minutes. Free show.

Sunday Day 4:

– Special passes in the Sound Garden of the Sephardic Museum (every hour)

– MINYAN: Contemporary installation in Samuel ha-Leví’s Synagogue (Sephardic Museum)

– 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Guided visits through the Jewish Quarter, with special opening of singular spaces. Reservations can be made at the Association’s telephone number (603 420 820) or at the following address: info@guiasdetoledo.org. Price: 3€
