Carnival 2018 in Toledo will take place on 9, 10 and 11 February. There will be parades, street parties in the neighbourhoods, activities and concerts organised by the Town Hall. In addition, the 12th and 13th of February, according to Toledo’s school calendar, will be public holidays for the students, as the educational centres will remain closed.

New Carnival in Toledo 2018:
- 11/01/18: The registration period for the Carnival comparsas competition begins on 22nd January with more than 12,500 euros in prizes (Source: Toledo City Council)
- 30/01/18: Press release in the Town Hall on the programme of activities: Carnival 2018 arrives with more than twenty activities in all neighbourhoods, seven verbenas and the children’s musical ‘Peter Pan’.
The Department of Celebrations has published the rules to govern the parade competition of clubs, charangas and groups of Carnival 2018 organized by the City Council with an amount of prizes in excess of 12,500 euros.
The registration period begins on January 22, Monday, and ends on February 1, Thursday, at 14:00 hours.The Carnival parade will be on Saturday, February 10, and will depart at 17:00 hours from Barber Avenue.

When is Carnival 2018 in Toledo?
The dates in 2018 in Toledo for the Carnival are 9, 10 and 11 February. In addition, February 12 and 13, according to Toledo’s school calendar will be holidays for students, as schools will remain closed.
Carnival Activities in Toledo 2018
On Friday 9 February the neighbourhoods will celebrate Carnival with the collaboration of the Town Hall.
On Saturday 10 it will be the turn of the comparsas in the great parade and competition of the city that will depart at 17:00 hours from Barber Avenue to Merchán Avenue, where the stage will be installed for the delivery of prizes and the later verbena with the Azabache Orchestra that will continue in the Town Hall square from the dawn with the live music of the Karisma Orchestra. Itinerary: Av. de Barber, Av. de la Reconquista, Puerta de Bisagra and Paseo de Merchán.
The Carnival programme includes other children’s activities such as workshops and inflatables that will be installed on Saturday the 10th in the morning in the Historical Quarter, or on Friday the 9th in the different neighbourhoods of the city.
On Sunday 11 February the day will begin at 12:00 with the musical ‘Peter Pan’ in the Town Hall square.
The end of the festival Sunday 11 February, will be put by a fireworks display on the Passenger Ship once the parade of the burial of the Sardine starring the Theatre Company ETR runs from the Town Hall square the streets Comercio, Cuesta de Carlos V, Horno de los Bizcochos, Tornerías and Sixto Ramón Parro, to the Paseo del Barco Pasaje. The funeral procession will leave at 18:00 hours, although one hour before, at five o’clock in the afternoon, the sardine will be served with pastas and sweet wine among the attendees.
