The city of Toledo will celebrate, from 2 to 6 September next, a new edition of the European Days of Jewish Culture that on this occasion celebrates its tenth anniversary.
The X European Days of Jewish Culture, which the Castilian-La Mancha capital welcomes every year as a member of the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters, will begin on September 2nd under the slogan “Toledo, heart of Sepharad with centuries of history” and with a children’s ceramic workshop on Jewish symbolism.
The following day, the Interpretation Centre of Jewish Toledo, developed by Antonio Pareja, will be inaugurated in the building of the Royal Foundation of Toledo, headquarters of the Victorio Macho Museum.
The House of the Jew will be inaugurated on September 4, a space with Hebrew connotations that can be visited for three days and is located in the Travesía de la Judería 4, and the next day, Saturday September 5, will take place the traditional cultural exchange by which people who wish to visit the city of Cordoba to see how they celebrate these days in the Andalusian city.
That same Saturday, the synagogue of Santa María la Blanca will host a concert by the Toledan artist Ana Alcaide in the afternoon and the doors of this building will be opened, as well as those of the Transit Synagogue so that, until the same Sunday, they can be visited by the public free of charge.
During these days several guided and free routes will be developed to which interested people can make their reservations through the Municipal Tourist Board of Toledo City Council.
