The Patron Saint Festival of Toledo arrives. The Town Hall indicates that for the elaboration of this year’s programme it has had a wide participation on the part of hoteliers and artists from Toledo and that its activities are aimed at all publics and all ages. Below is information on the programme of activities provided by the municipal services.
The Fiestas will officially begin on Friday 12 August with a fireworks display and a festival of local artists in La Peraleda; the following day the show Botijolgorio will take place in La Vega, a play by the theatre company ETR aimed at children so that they become familiar, through play, with the most typical traditions of these dates, such as drinking the Virgin’s Water in the cathedral’s botijos.
Outdoor music, a main element of the festivities. In this section, the concerts of M-Clan, on Saturday 13 August, and Fangoria, on Sunday 14, both in La Peraleda with a price of 5 euros in advance sale and 10 at the box office.
To this must be added the seven concerts of the Festival de Música de las Tres Cultures which will take place in San Pedro Mártir from 11 to 17 August, the verbenas in Zocodover, the concerts of the music bands and other events such as the performance of soprano Sandra Redondo and guitarist Marisa Gómez at the Museo del Greco on the night of Saturday 13.
On the occasion of the World Youth Day, the city of Toledo will receive in the coming days some 15,000 young people from different countries and, for this reason, two photographic exhibitions have been recovered, one by José Ramón Márquez and Óscar Huertas on the Corpus (Archbishop’s Palace) and “Penitentes”, by Pepe Castro (Posada de la Hermandad).
