Book Fair 2016 in Toledo
The XI edition of the Toledo Book Fair will take place from next Saturday, May 7, until May 15 and will offer the possibility of participating in storytelling, recitals, workshops or enjoy concerts, among other activities, as announced by the City Council of Toledo.
This year’s motto for the fair is ‘Half a loaf of bread and a book’, a phrase from Lorca that refers to the extreme defence of culture as a means to feed the human being. The poster announcing the 11th Book Fair was created by Laura Rodríguez Serrano, a student at the Toledo School of Art.
In total, there will be 21 exhibitors and 23 activities throughout the nine days of this fair that will offer discounts for visitors and leisure activities for children and adults, including storytelling on the two Saturdays of this event, poetry workshops, Japanese binding and writing, as well as Chinese shadow shows and recitals.
Music will also be the protagonist for several days with the concert by the instrumental ensemble of the Municipal School of Music and the Dark Chocolate Trio concert and, as part of the city’s Gastronomic Year, the Club de lectura de Novela Negra Taiga will organise a discussion on ‘Gastronomy in the black novel’ and Jacinto García and Juan Carlos Pantoja will organise the discussion ‘A la mesa con Cervantes’.
To register for workshops and recitals it is necessary to send an email to info@verbalina.com
